Quick start for parents and guardians

Use this quick start when a pack or troop invites you to Woggle. In a few minutes, you can join the correct Unit, confirm your family context, answer the next Event, read current updates, and help with a volunteer role if one fits.

Open the Invite from your Unit leader. On You’re joining, check the Unit name and location, the role under Invited as, and the Unit under Access to.

Woggle Invite preview for Troop 84 showing the Parent Guardian role, Unit access, and account actions.

This Invite is for a Parent Guardian joining Troop 84. Ask the sender for a corrected Invite if the Unit or role is wrong.

Choose Create account if you are new to Woggle. Choose I already have an account to sign in. After account creation or sign-in returns you to the Invite, review it again and select Continue. If Woggle shows Request sent, wait for approval before moving to Household. Use How to join a Unit with an Invite if the Invite is expired, shows the wrong account, or creates a join request that still needs approval.

Open More, select Household, and confirm the parents or guardians, Youth Members, and account-link states that belong to your family context.

Woggle Low Household with one Parent or Guardian and two Youth Members, including their linked-account states.

Household shows who belongs to the family context Woggle uses for profiles and Event responses.

A Household Guardian can add or edit Youth profiles and manage eligible Household relationships. If you are unsure whether a person belongs here, leave the record unchanged and ask for help. See How to review the Unit roster and your Household for the difference between Unit membership and a Household.

3. Answer the next Event when RSVP is enabled

Section titled “3. Answer the next Event when RSVP is enabled”

Open Events and choose the next activity your family needs to act on. Check the date, location, audience, RSVP deadline, and what each person needs to bring. If the Event shows My RSVP, it asks for responses. If My RSVP is absent, RSVP is not enabled for that Event; review the Event details, then continue to step 4 or choose another Event that asks for an RSVP.

Choose Going or Not Going for every Household member shown. Not Going saves a clear response instead of leaving No Response, so the RSVP count gives leaders a better planning picture.

Woggle My RSVP section with Going or Not Going choices for one Guardian and two Youth Members.

Answer person by person so the Event reflects who plans to attend.

Return to My RSVP if plans change. The Event deadline or state can lock edits; contact the organizer when the controls are unavailable. How to complete a family RSVP explains response states, deadlines, and corrections.

Open Announcements. Use Unread for new updates or Ack Required for items that still need your confirmation.

Woggle Announcements feed with a high-priority Weather Plan Update marked unread, acknowledgement required, and pinned.

Priority, acknowledgement, and pin labels help important updates stand out from routine Announcements.

Open the Announcement and read the full update. Viewing it marks it read. If it requires acknowledgement, select Acknowledge after you understand the action. When an Announcement changes an Event, return to the Event for the current date, location, RSVP, and volunteer plan.

See How to send an Announcement for how Woggle uses audiences, priority, acknowledgement, pins, and visibility.

On the Event, find Volunteer. Check the role name, notes, number of open spots, and whether it is adults-only. Select I can help, then select Confirm to claim an open role.

Woggle Event volunteer section with three Grillmaster spots open and Game leader claimed by the signed-in member.

The Event shows one open adults-only role and one role already claimed by the signed-in parent.

Select Release spot, then select Confirm if you can no longer cover a role. A full role prevents new claims, but someone who already claimed a spot can still release it. Volunteer claims and releases are unavailable when an Event is canceled, over, or view-only. How to add and claim volunteer roles covers the full role lifecycle.

  • The Invite is wrong or expired: Ask the sender for a corrected Invite, then follow the Invite troubleshooting steps.
  • A Household member is wrong or missing: Leave uncertain or private details unchanged and ask a Household Guardian or Unit leader which record needs correction.
  • An RSVP does not save: Check the deadline and Event state, then use the RSVP troubleshooting steps.
  • No Announcement notification arrived: Open Announcements directly and check notification troubleshooting.
  • A volunteer action is unavailable: Check whether the role is full or adults-only and whether the Event is still open for changes.

Open the next Event once more. If it shows My RSVP, confirm that each person shows the intended response. If you claimed a volunteer role, confirm that the role shows you as signed up.
